Job summary

United Way of Dane County seeks a strategic, equity‑minded Vice President of Community Impact to lead all aspects of the department. This executive role will guide community initiatives, budgeting, and staff performance while partnering with partners and donors to advance measurable, equity-centered results.

The VP will report to the President & CEO and will shape long‑term strategies, stakeholder engagement, and public policy advocacy to improve health and well‑being in Dane County.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Ten years of professional leadership experience in community organizations.
  • Experience leading large, diverse teams of staff and volunteers.
  • Experience managing funding proposals, sponsorships and grantmaking.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and leadership across the Community Impact department.
  • Lead development and management of community initiatives and budgets.
  • Oversee staff performance, volunteer engagement and partner relationships.
  • Represent UWDC in community initiatives and policy advocacy.
  • Ensure equity-centered strategies and measurable results across programs.
