Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is seeking a Vice President of Clinical Operations to lead case management, utilization management, and behavioral health across lines of business. Reporting to the COO, this role blends clinical expertise with operational excellence to drive high-quality, cost-effective care.

You will build strategic plans, establish performance metrics, and guide teams across physical and behavioral health, health services, and product development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related professional experience in health plan or healthcare delivery with 7+ years in people leadership.
• 7+ years of clinical adjacent experience.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and managed care principles.
• Leadership and team management skills, including delegation, coaching, and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of clinical operations ensuring proper allocation of resources to top priorities.
• Collaborate with medical directors and clinical teams to address complex cases and high-risk members; work with cross-functional departments to drive outcomes.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for clinical operations.
• Enhance operational efficiency and optimize member engagement, quality of services and outcomes.
• Establish department goals and performance metrics aligned with strategic plans.
• Lead enterprise-wide change and provide strategic direction for exceptional internal and external customer experiences.
• Prepare and present reports on departmental performance to senior leadership.
