Job summary

Umoja Biopharma, a Seattle-based biotechnology company, seeks a Vice President of Clinical Development to lead the clinical program strategy across the portfolio and oversee Medical Directors and Clinical Scientists. Qualifications

• Significant experience in biotechnology or life sciences.
• Experience leading clinical development functions and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven success leading late-stage and registration-enabling studies.
• Experience supporting regulatory interactions and submissions.
• Cell and gene therapy or advanced modalities experience preferred.
• Hematology/oncology, immunology, rheumatology or advanced therapeutics preferred.
• Strategic thinker with strong scientific and business acumen.
• Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall clinical development strategy for the company’s portfolio, aligning with regulatory and corporate objectives.
• Partner with the CMO and executive team to define development pathways and regulatory strategies.
• Build and develop a high-performing medical and scientific organization.
• Communicate clinical vision and data to the Board, investors, and partners.
• Shape long-term clinical development strategy, indications, sequencing and investments.
• Ensure studies are conducted on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulations.
• Oversee safety monitoring, data quality, and reporting.
• Lead governance, risk management, and portfolio prioritization.
