Anywhere Real Estate has launched a newly formed Growth and M&A team to accelerate our strategic expansion and innovation across the real estate ecosystem. This team is led by Steve Capezza, SVP of M&A and Head of Growth, whose industry expertise spans proptech and real estate marketplace leadership. We are seeking a Vice President of Business Development to play a pivotal role in identifying and executing transformative acquisitions aligned with our long-term vision. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of real estate by joining a team reimagining growth through bold strategy, innovation, and operational excellence.

Your ability to navigate complex transactions, build relationships, and drive value creation will be essential as you guide acquisitions from inception through successful integration. You will lead business development initiatives, collaborate across functions, and influence key decision-makers, contributing to Anywhere's ongoing success as an industry leader.

Our ideal VP of Business Development will have a proven track record of driving growth and leading high-performing M&A initiatives that result in increased revenues. You should be comfortable operating in uncertain environments, adaptable to changing priorities, and eager to explore new growth avenues, including traditional brokerage models and emerging opportunities across industries and technologies.

You will bring a history of success in growth areas from M&A to closing deals and achieving revenue results. A strong understanding of the M&A landscape and competitive environment will be vital to help Anywhere develop enterprise-wide strategies that deliver high financial returns.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sourcing & Outreach
    • Identify and engage prospective acquisition candidates, including independent brokerages, franchisees, and related businesses.
    • Act as a brand ambassador and initial contact for potential sellers and partners.
    • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking forums to stay active in the real estate community.
  2. Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with brokers, owners, and stakeholders.
    • Stay informed on market dynamics, competitor activity, and seller motivations.
    • Educate potential sellers on Anywhere's value proposition and deal process.
    • Guide sellers through the cross-functional integration process.
  3. Deal Qualification & Support
    • Collaborate with the team to vet and prioritize leads based on strategic and financial criteria.
    • Facilitate initial diligence, documentation, and transition to deal execution.
    • Track pipeline activity, relationship status, and conversion metrics.
  4. Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Partner with leadership to align M&A activities with business priorities.
    • Provide market insights to refine sourcing strategies and regional plans.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field.
  • 10+ years in real estate brokerage, corporate development, or franchise sales.
  • Strong knowledge of the residential real estate industry and franchise models.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple relationships and high-value opportunities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growth through partnerships.
Preferred Attributes
  • Existing network within the U.S. real estate brokerage community.
  • Experience in M&A, franchise development, or business ownership.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce.
