Job summary

State Street Corporation is seeking a Vice President, Business Information Security Officer (BISO) to oversee cyber risk for lines of business and legal entities. This role blends technical risk assessment with strategic advisory functions, including blockchain security, custody models, HSMs, and incident readiness.

You will lead a small team and liaise with executives to promote cyber controls and resilient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or related field.
• CISSP/CISP preferred certification.
• Blockchain and digital asset security certifications are desirable.
• At least 6 years of information security experience, with 4 in financial services.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF; AWS or Azure cloud security is a plus.
• Understanding of finance, compliance, and risk management concepts.
• Regional regulatory guidance across supported jurisdictions.
• Hands-on blockchain, digital assets, tokenization, and custody knowledge.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team to support aligned business stakeholders and cyber work.
• Deliver data-driven insights to enable informed decision-making.
• Manage risks in line with risk appetite and engage leadership.
• Perform cyber risk assessments across applications, platforms, and systems.
• Integrate security reviews into lifecycle processes and governance.
• Represent GCS in control committees and executive forums.
• Prepare executive-ready briefings on protection needs and threat models.
• Advise on blockchain and digital asset risk across custody, signing, and contracts.
• Challenge key management designs, HSM usage, and cold storage controls.
• Coordinate with architecture, cloud, IAM/PAM, SOC/SIEM, and vendor risk teams.
