Job summary

Job Description

The VP, Associate Creative Director/Copy is responsible for ensuring that all Agency work is on strategy and meets or exceeds the highest level of creative accomplishment. He/she contributes to growing the Clients' business, acts as the Creative Director’s right hand, and is able to step in to fulfill these functions when necessary.

He/she also advocates for Biolumina, helps identify and recruit new talent, and provides leadership and guidance within the department.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and motivate the team, facilitate great thinking, and keep morale high.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for departmental improvements and offer executable solutions.
  • Keep Creative Director(s) briefed on creative projects in a timely manner.
  • Establish credibility with Clients at all levels by developing knowledge of Clients' business and organizational structure.
  • Manage outside vendor/resources effectively from both cost and creative standpoints.
  • Stay abreast of current advertising, design, and visual communications trends.
  • Work in various media, including print production processes.
  • Contribute to new business efforts creatively and present work in pitches.
  • Travel to clients as required.
  • Act as a brand steward maintaining brand integrity and excellence in all materials.
  • Provide fresh, unique, and strategic thinking for brand marketing and advertising initiatives.
  • Ensure Agency work is on strategy and contributes to growing Clients' business.
  • Work with copywriters to develop conceptual approaches aligned with Client objectives.
  • Attend photo-shoots and provide on‑the-spot vendor feedback.
  • Act as gatekeeper to ensure final products meet highest quality and effectively communicate brand messages.
  • Present and communicate creative concepts and design rationale to team and clients.
  • Show “zoom in and out” ability (big picture and detail focus).
  • Collaborate with Client/Agency Creative/Account teams.
  • Create a collaborative environment across departments and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Work with account service from project start to finish to meet budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal business group departments.
  • Manage time, prioritize jobs, oversee junior team members, delegate assignments, and approve work.
  • Monitor workload, minimize downtime, and ensure efficiency.
  • Assist supervisor in managing staff issues, performance, and internal interactions.
  • Recommend adjustments to roles and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Interview, train, and orient new team members.
  • Mentor reports, provide feedback, and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Provide ongoing guidance to team members regarding policies and procedures.
  • Inform supervisor of workload challenges that may require hiring freelancers or reallocating creatives.
  • Oversee team’s time‑off schedules and time reporting to ensure coverage.
  • Act as an advocate for Biolumina and make decisions in the Agency’s best interest.
  • Provide agency‑wide leadership and presentation of a professional, positive image.
  • Motivate direct reports and act as mentor.
  • Identify, recruit, train, and develop talent.

Salary
