The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a VP, Assistant General Counsel to take the lead on technology-related contract negotiations and help build out a more unified approach to vendor agreements company-wide, with particular focus on cloud services and data-related contracts. This is a high-profile position for a business-savvy attorney who wants to be embedded in the legal work behind a rapidly scaling, technology-forward enterprise.

• What you'll do: Take point on technology contract negotiations across multiple parts of the business
• Build and refine a company-wide framework for vendor agreements, with particular ownership of cloud and data-related contracts
• Help internal teams think through the full downstream impact of contract terms, not just the immediate deal
• Weigh commercial priorities against legal, policy, and reputational exposure
• Use sound judgment to accept calculated, well-reasoned risk when appropriate
• Confidently represent and defend positions with both internal stakeholders and outside counterparties
• Partner closely with other members of a broader in-house legal function
• Manage complex commercial contracts, including licensing agreements and master service agreements
• What you bring: 6+ years of experience, ideally combining law firm training with in-house work in corporate, technology, SaaS, or software licensing matters
