Qualifications

• Degree in CS / IS / data engineering or related field with 7–8+ years in data/analytics engineering or BI in regulated environments.
• Strong SQL, Python, PySpark, and production‑grade implementation experience.
• Experience designing semantic layers / governed BI models, ideally with Databricks SQL.
• Proven ability to translate risk data into executive narratives and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement end-to-end pipelines on Databricks using DLT, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog for governance, lineage, and access controls.
• Build ingestion/integration pipelines in Python/PySpark, consuming data into the Lakehouse; use feeder tools like Alteryx/Prophecy as appropriate.
• Design a governed self-service layer in Databricks SQL with curated semantic models and controlled exposure.
• Ensure data governance with owners, cataloging, lineage, and entitlements.
• Advise on cloud analytics strategies, onboarding Databricks users and citizen developers with enablement patterns.
• Communicate with senior non-technical stakeholders; translate data into actionable narratives and decisions.
• Deliver executive-ready dashboards and self-service analytics in Tableau and/or Sigma on Databricks data.
• Leverage AI tooling to accelerate development while maintaining ownership and validating AI-generated code/documentation.
