Job summary

PIMCO, a global leader in fixed income, seeks a Vice President, Alternatives Fund Controller to oversee financial accounting and controls for evergreen private credit funds. You will collaborate with Portfolio Management, Legal, Tax, and Compliance in a challenging, high-visibility role.

This position focuses on complex hybrid funds investing across public and private credit, real estate, and structured products, with opportunities to shape reporting and workflow improvements.

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of experience in fund accounting, audit, or finance.
• Strong experience with alternative investment structures, including private credit and evergreen/open-ended funds.
• Experience overseeing fund administrators and external service providers.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and investment company accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Fund Controller with ownership of financial oversight for a group of complex evergreen private credit funds.
• Oversee fund administrators responsible for NAV production, ensuring accuracy of accounting, valuation, fee calculations, and investor allocations.
• Act as the accountable owner of the fund accounting and reporting framework, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and consistency with governing documents and policies.
• Review and challenge financial outputs, including capital account statements, investor reporting, and audited financial statements.
• Manage the fund close cycle, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reporting to internal stakeholders and investors.
• Oversee accounting for complex and illiquid investments, including private credit instruments, structured products, real estate debt and equity, and hybrid fund structures.
• Evaluate and operationalize bespoke fee arrangements, designing analytical review frameworks for accurate application across investors and distribution partners.
• Serve as a key interface between fund-level finance and corporate finance functions, aligning fund performance with firm-level reporting.
• Oversee fund treasury and liquidity management, including subscriptions/redemptions, capital calls, and income distributions.
• Partner with Portfolio Management and deal teams on complex transactions for proper reporting treatment.
• Manage external audits, regulatory filings, and compliance-related reporting requirements.
• Oversee third-party service providers to ensure SLA performance and continuous improvement.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance controls and scalability, including automation and emerging technologies.
• Coordinate with Finance, Legal, Tax, Compliance, and Operations as a central point of contact.
• Support new product launches and structural changes in fund offerings.
