Job summary

LPL Financial Holdings Inc. is seeking a VP to oversee risk governance for AI initiatives, shaping a defensible framework and driving responsible AI adoption across functions.

The role leads day-to-day execution, matures governance processes, and partners with cybersecurity, privacy, legal, and compliance to ensure regulatory adherence while communicating risks to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 7–10+ years in risk management, governance or related control function in a regulated financial institution.
• 2+ years in AI risk management or governance roles.
• Prior leadership experience with ability to lead and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve the AI governance framework, policies and standards.
• Oversee risk assessments and gap analyses on AI solutions to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Define control expectations for AI development and deployment, including cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI models align with risk frameworks and requirements.
• Assist in establishing and overseeing AI risk governance frameworks, including control frameworks and committee governance.
• Ensure adherence to industry best practices, such as NIST AI RMF and ISO AI standards.
• Serve as SME and produce materials for executive-level risk and governance committees.
• Drive clear, well-reasoned risk decisions and present to executives.
• Communicate AI risk clearly to non-technical executives.
• Coordinate across risk and business stakeholders for framework consistency.
• Partner with Cybersecurity, third-party risk, privacy, legal and compliance on reviews.
• Help mature AI risk and governance operating model and track key risk indicators.
• Adapt to evolving needs of business partners within Risk & Compliance.
