Job summary

IDC seeks a Vice President, Research, Planning & Operations to guide enterprise AI economics research, model cost structures, and advise CIOs and CFOs on AI investments. You will lead economic analyses, benchmark deployments, and provide strategic guidance across departments.

You will interact with senior leaders to validate assumptions, forecast benefits, and ensure credible, data-driven research that informs large-scale AI deployments and funding decisions.

Qualifications

• Senior practitioner with direct responsibility for AI deployments in large organizations.
• Experience creating financial models and advising executives on AI investments.
• Ability to quantify costs, benefits, and value realization across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the research agenda for enterprise AI economics and budgeting.
• Develop and validate IDC AI economic models covering cost structures and payback.
• Advise CIOs, CFOs, and leaders on portfolio decisions and funding options.
• Build benchmarks and case studies across functions to analyze cost and value.
• Partner with sourcing advisory to incorporate price benchmarks into models.
• Produce syndicated and custom research and translate deployments into actionable guidance.
