Job summary

DFAS Texarkana is seeking an accounting clerk to support accounts payable processing and voucher auditing. You will schedule payments, review documents, and ensure accurate disbursements in a structured environment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate experience with accounting functions, proficiency with calculators and PCs, and clear written and verbal communication with vendors and service activities. A one-year probation may be required.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an T3 (Secret) Investigation
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3.
• PER AR 380-67, NON-US CITIZENS WILL NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN THE REQUIRED T3 (SECRET) INVESTIGATION, THEREFORE, WILL BE UNABLE TO QUALIFY UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":

• Process voucher payments using automated system.
• Reviewing documents authorizing payments.
• Resolving discrepancies according to established procedures.

Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants may be referred for consideration at managements request.

• This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
• Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
