Job description

• Department: Department of Health and Human Services

This position is located in the Business Office at the Western Oregon Service Unit in Salem, Oregon. The position performs accounts receivable support functions for the patient accounting system, through the posting of payments and adjustments to accounts receivable in the Patient Accounts Section. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Key Responsibilities

Identifies, audits, posts, and collects from third party health plan carriers for outpatient clients to recover maximum dollars. Identifies the type of transactions; extracting, compiling and verifying utilization of billing date; computing and adjusting account balances, comparing required forms and records; submitting and maintaining current assignment of benefits. Coordinates collections for the third-party reimbursement program.

Responsible for accurate processing of secondary and tertiary billing after posting payment of initial claims. Responsible for the posting of all contractual/adjustments related to and in conjunction with posting of payments in accordance with health center policy and procedures.
