Medical Support Assistant (Patient Business Office)

Department: Department of Health and Human Services

The Incumbents will provide registration and eligibility services with patients to obtain and process demographic and insurance information for alternate resources. The incumbent(s) will report directly to the Patient Business Supervisor. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Key Responsibilities

Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Face-to-face or telephone interviews with patients to obtain registration information relating to third party resources. Assist patients in completing new or update forms for RPMS Patient Registration System. Determines the eligibility of patients seeking health care, by obtaining the required documentation according to IHS Guidelines.

Initiates all admitting forms to complete the admission with current patient data. obtains signatures for file on required for Alternate Resources and Contract Health Services, prior to treatment in clinic for billing purposes. Obtain and verifies the health records and RPMS Patient Registration system for Medicaid, Medicare and private/commercial insurance eligibility information for all patients.
