Job summary

The Institute at Brown for Environment and Society (IBES) invites applications for one or more distinguished postdoctoral research associates. The position supports independent research with mentorship, with appointments for two years starting in July 2026 or soon thereafter.

Some candidates may teach undergraduate courses. A salary of $68,000 plus benefits and a discretionary research fund of up to $4,000 is provided, along with a $3,000 first-year relocation supplement.

Qualifications

• PhD required by start date with ability to work independently.
• Interest in cross-disciplinary research and contributing to IBES strategic plan.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research with mentorship from IBES faculty.
• Engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration and scholarly dialogue.
• Contribute to research outputs and, in some cases, undergraduate teaching.
