Job summary

Brown University’s Watson School for International and Public Affairs and the Department of Sociology invite applications for a two-year joint Postdoctoral Research Associate position beginning Fall 2027. The selected candidate will conduct independent research addressing political sociology within an interdisciplinary environment.

They will teach one seminar annually (up to nineteen students) and present work to an interdisciplinary group, with additional funding available for research expenses

Qualifications

• Ph.D. completed or near completion by July 2027 with strong research focus.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publish.
• Experience collaborating across disciplines and presenting work publicly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research addressing political sociology topics.
• Teach one seminar per year to a group up to nineteen students.
• Present work in progress to an interdisciplinary group and collaborate with faculty.
