Job summary

Minnesota Historical Society is seeking an Intern for Volunteer Services to support recruitment, onboarding, training, and recognition of volunteers across MNHS sites. You will help implement and train staff and volunteers on a new Volunteer Management system and participate in community recruitment tabling during spring recruitment drives.

The role emphasizes customer service, coordination of onboarding activities, and collaboration with multiple teams.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, or have graduated within the past 12 months.
Ideal candidates study History, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Human Resources, Sociology, Psychology, Event management.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a welcoming, customer-focused attitude toward volunteers, staff, and community members.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and comfort adapting to or learning new software systems.
High energy and confidence presenting or tabling at community recruitment events and information sessions.

Responsibilities

Provide a high level of customer service to volunteers and staff, ensuring consistent communication and relationship building.
Support the Volunteer Services team in rolling out a new volunteer management system including system setup, staff training, and volunteer training at various sites.
Assist with volunteer recruitment and placement, including posting opportunities, sending recruitment emails, tabling at community events, information sessions, and coordinating orientations.
