The Esplanade Association seeks a Volunteer Coordinator to oversee a comprehensive volunteer program and to steward in-kind and revenue-generating participation for the Charles River Esplanade in Boston.

Working with Visitor Services and Horticulture, the role will recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers across individual and group programs, ensuring safety, reliability, and positive experiences for park visitors.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, human resources, education, or related field.
• 1–2 years experience in volunteer and/or visitor services.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work with volunteers.
• Massachusetts driver’s license in good standing at time of appointment.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Commitment to interact with diverse colleagues and park users courteously and professionally.
• Fluency with Microsoft Office suite and related programs.
• Multilingual fluency is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee the Volunteer Ambassador program, including application, training, and ongoing opportunities.
• Support daily volunteer work at the Charlesbank Campus info desk and during programs and events.
• Ensure volunteer participation meets standards and address performance as needed.
• Communicate Volunteer Ambassador updates and maintain relationships.
• Schedule volunteers using an online platform and assess program improvements.
• Develop recruitment plans for individual volunteers and conduct outreach.
• Oversee Group Volunteer Program, organize scheduling, and manage group events.
