Job summary

Chapters Health System in Florida seeks a Volunteer Coordinator to organize and supervise patient care volunteers. You will recruit volunteers, screen applicants, train and evaluate volunteers for patient/family care, events and support roles, while serving as a liaison with staff on the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG).

The role requires strong communication, detail orientation, and the ability to travel locally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; BA/BS or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in volunteer coordination, preferably in healthcare.
• One year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Bi-lingual preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel in the community.
• Excellent telephone and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruits volunteers through community networking activities and marketing efforts.
• Screens potential volunteers through intake calls and interviews, and in training.
• Trains, assigns, supervises and evaluates volunteers for patient/family care, events and administrative support.
• Participates in the development and implementation of programs and annual volunteer recognition.
• Maintains records of volunteers and ensures file requirements are met.
• Serves as a liaison between team members and volunteers on the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
