Job summary

Regional Food Bank is seeking a hands-on Volunteer Engagement Specialist to recruit, coordinate and schedule volunteers in a busy warehouse. The role includes community outreach, events, and volunteer recognition, with training provided for CERVIS scheduling software.

The position supports a large annual volunteer program and requires strong people skills, reliability, and the ability to work weekdays and some evenings. Warehouse experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Able to manage multiple volunteers and schedules in a busy warehouse.
• Experience working with diverse groups and building relationships.
• Willing to obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, schedules and works with volunteers to sort and repack items in warehouse.
• Completes accurate paperwork for volunteer hours and products sorted.
• Fields inquiries and maintains communication with volunteers via email and phone.
• Schedules volunteers using the CERVIS system.
• Coordinates volunteers for off-site events and assists with projects.
• Conducts outreach to community groups and assists with recognition events.
• Contributes to department newsletters with ideas and materials.
• Maintains a clean and safe workspace and inspects power equipment.
