Qualifications

  • Strong command of English language, both written and verbal, to present information clearly.
  • Minimum of one year's experience working with volunteers and staff in a supervisory position.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to relate to diverse ages and backgrounds.
  • Patient, thoughtful, and supportive of a wide variety of personalities and needs.
  • Computer literacy with standard word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily floor assignments ensuring all touch tanks are covered during operating hours.
  • Mentor and coach Gallery Ambassadors and staff, providing feedback on guest engagement and conservation messaging.
  • Facilitate shift rotations and break coverage for volunteers and staff.
  • Maintain volunteer materials at touch tanks and exhibit stations.
  • Assist recruitment, onboarding and training of new volunteers and staff.
  • Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer mentoring program.
