Job summary

The Marine Mammal Center is seeking a part-time Conservation Engagement Associate to welcome visitors, verify reservations, and lead public programs at Marin Headlands. You will work with the Conservation Engagement team to inspire ocean stewards and engage diverse audiences onsite.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, leading tours, mentoring volunteers, answering phones, and helping maintain a safe, well-organized visitor area. Weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience equivalent to being currently enrolled in college or having an associate or bachelor’s degree in administration, education, marine science or related field; and at least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination or waiver (medical or religious).

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, verify reservations, and promote Center programs.
• Lead tours and provide docent duties.
• Manage volunteers and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
• Answer calls politely and direct inquiries as needed.
• Assist in evaluating visitor experience via surveys and feedback.
