Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Westwood, KS is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to interview, place, train and supervise volunteers across KU-affiliated sites. Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • 5 or more years of experience in healthcare or volunteer services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to the volunteer department and aligns with the hospital's strategic plan.
  • Oversees daily operations and supervises volunteers with staff coordination.
  • Tracks volunteer hours and status using Galaxy Digital volunteer database.
  • Develops and delivers volunteer orientation and training, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Plans recognition events and new volunteer programs to meet department goals.
  • Maintains volunteer files in compliance with Joint Commission regulations.
