Job summary

The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for Douthat State Park. The role emphasizes customer service, volunteer management, and accurate record-keeping, with duties in both the office and outdoor settings.

You will recruit, onboard, train, and supervise volunteers; coordinate projects with park management; support interpretive programs and school field trips; and collaborate with community groups.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard, and train volunteers.
• Schedule and coordinate volunteer service projects.
• Train and assist camp hosts.

• Create a monthly volunteer newsletter.
• Assist with interpretive programs and school field trips.
• Work outdoors in all weather, standing for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Shift work to include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
