Job summary

The City of Philadelphia seeks an Environmental Stewardship Specialist to support citywide stewardship programs. You will engage volunteers, park users, and community members, leading weekly events and coordinating with partners to protect natural areas.

Responsibilities include data collection, site preparation, and liaison roles for Cobbs Creek Park and Pennypack Park, with seasonal scheduling and cross‑department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Completion of a degree program at an accredited college or university.
• 1–2 years of ecology experience or training.
• 1–2 years in customer service or community organizing preferred.
• Experience working with volunteers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly volunteer events and engage with park users.
• Collaborate with city departments and community groups.
• Support stewardship activities in Cobbs Creek Park and Pennypack Park.
• Maintain volunteer database and report service metrics.
