Job summary

Clean Air Council in Philadelphia is seeking a Full-Time Trail and Watershed Outreach Coordinator to engage residents, groups, and government partners in protecting trails and watersheds across West and Southwest Philadelphia and surrounding regions.

You will plan community programs, recruit volunteers, and advocate for sustainable management of green spaces, while coordinating with the Council’s trails team and local agencies, with some travel and evening/weekend work.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in community outreach or related fields.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Experience planning and promoting events.
• Interest in parks, trails, watersheds, outdoors.
• Ability to collaborate with external partners on multiple projects.
• Knowledge of West and Southwest Philadelphia communities.
• Ability to create materials (flyers, blogs, social posts, newsletters, presentations).
• Public speaking experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Engage residents, groups, non-profits, and agencies to address barriers to green spaces.
• Grow a diverse coalition to support inclusive trail and watershed planning.
• Build trust with community members and government agencies to support long-term goals.
• Plan and promote programs and activities; recruit and coordinate volunteers.
• Local travel required; some evening and weekend work.
