Job summary

The Catherine McAuley Center is seeking a Volunteer & Outreach Manager to lead a diverse volunteer program and cultivate relationships across corporate, religious, academic, community, and individual volunteers to support ongoing services and special projects.

The role requires experience in volunteer management, strong communication, public speaking, and the ability to work with people from varied backgrounds. Flexibility and initiative are essential to advance the Center's mission.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree or other degree with equivalent experience.
• Volunteer Management or related experience (2 years’ experience working with volunteers is required).
• Demonstrated ability to present effective and compelling messages to individuals, groups and the public.
• Ability to effectively lead, facilitate, train and manage a group of individuals.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality across CMC.
• Be a creative, enthusiastic, highly motivated, self-starter.
• Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal/oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
• Effective public speaking skills.
• Ability to develop rapport with people of all ages, backgrounds, and economic resources, and to treat others in a friendly, courteous, and appreciative manner.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative, and manage multiple projects with changing priorities.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with databases and social media strategies/analytics.
• Ability to behave as a professional representative of CMC and communicate the mission and activities.
• Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues related to literacy, immigrants, refugees, women, poverty, and mental illness.
