Job description

My Pathway to Health is a paid work-based learning opportunity connecting youth aged 18-24 to careers in allied health. We need volunteers to interview students via Zoom in 1:1 breakout sessions. Volunteers do not need healthcare experience. For many participants, this is their first interview experience and will serve as a foundation for their future professional careers. Volunteers will be provided with instructions and materials prior to interviews.

Mission Statement

UNITE-LA is a School-to-Career (STC) partnership that facilitates initiatives and activities across the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), and the City of Los Angeles. It creates diverse and enriching programs supporting STC, providing a seamless sequence of school- and work-based learning opportunities, and connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences.

  • Student Involvement: Presently, approximately 800,000 to 900,000 students are served within UNITE-LA's area. The organization covers over 660 traditional school sites and 240 learning centers throughout LAUSD, as well as nine community colleges in Los Angeles. It targets both in- and out-of-school youth, collaborating with more than 15 local non-profits and city agencies focused on at-risk youth, along with numerous community, labor, government, and other organizations. UNITE-LA aims to engage students from kindergarten onwards to foster lifelong learning, academic achievement, and career success.
