Job summary

Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands seeks a Volunteer Lawyer Program (VLP) Project Coordinator to oversee monthly clinics and manage intake for potential clients in Tennessee. You will supervise volunteers, coordinate staff with partner law firms, and build relationships with community organizations serving the client base.

The role requires strong communication and project-management skills, experience serving low-income clients, and Spanish language ability preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 2 years' experience in a law office, court, or social service setting.
• Experience working with low-income people.
• Proficiency with Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong oral and written communication, including interviews and crisis support.
• Spanish language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee 4-6 legal advice clinics per month, including 1 Saturday morning per month.
• Manage the daily intake process for potential clients of the VLP, supervising volunteers.
• Communicate with law firms and local attorneys to staff clinics with volunteers.
• Create and maintain positive relationships with organizations in the service area.
• Maintain files in an orderly and policy-compliant fashion.
• Attend weekly case reviews to discuss potential client cases.
• Enter clinic data and refer clients to appropriate resources after clinics.
• Assist with creating outreach materials and plan community outreach events.
