Education Travel & Culture (ETC) offers inbound programs for high school students worldwide to study in American high schools and live with American families. Our outbound programs allow students to study abroad. We are committed to providing exceptional support for both students and host families through a network of local coordinators and dedicated staff.

We are seeking host families in Richmond, VA, to host exchange students arriving in August 2024! Students come from countries including Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Vietnam, Brazil, Turkey, Paraguay, and more.

The requirements to become a volunteer host family are simple:

• Provide 3 meals a day
• Transportation to/from school
• A bedroom for the student to sleep and study in (students can share a room with same gender and similar age)
• Love and support

All families can be great host families! We've hosted single moms, busy families with children, same-sex couples, empty nesters, and more. If you can't commit to a full school year or semester, consider becoming a "Welcome Family" to host for 4-8 weeks, helping the student settle into the U.S.
