Lifeline Animal Project Inc is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator in Atlanta, GA to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers supporting shelter operations and events. You will maintain volunteer records, coordinate schedules, and liaise with the community to attract new volunteers.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, compassion for animals, and the ability to work across departments.

Qualifications

• Compassion for animals and the people who love them.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace, email) and experience with database systems is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and to bend and reach to perform assigned work activities.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and handle challenging situations with calmness and professionalism.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and remain composed under pressure.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on shelter needs.
• Must have a means of travel that ensures prompt arrival for work shifts.

Responsabilités

• Recruit, direct, guide, and train volunteers.
• Maintain current volunteer applications and screening process, volunteer handbook and training manuals.
• Manage the volunteer database and track orientation and training dates.
• Support saving the lives of animals by maintaining clear communication with volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteer orientations and scheduling for events and off-site adoptions.
• Draft, edit and publish a weekly volunteer newsletter.
• Coordinate with other departments to develop new volunteer programs.
• Take responsibility to schedule volunteers for various shelter positions.
