Job summary

Community Mainstreaming Westbury, NY seeks a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer program, recruit and train volunteers, and coordinate outreach aligned with fundraising efforts.

About the Role:

The Volunteer Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and engaged volunteer community that supports the organization's mission and programs. This position is responsible for the strategic recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared and motivated to contribute effectively. The coordinator will develop and implement outreach initiatives to build strong relationships within the community and expand the volunteer base. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with various departments to align volunteer efforts with organizational goals and fundraising activities. Ultimately, the Volunteer Coordinator ensures a seamless volunteer experience that maximizes impact and promotes community development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Community Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in volunteer management or coordination, preferably within a nonprofit or community organization.
