Classification: Part Time Regular

Location: Evart, Michigan

The Volunteer Coordinator assists with recruiting, training and leading volunteers, while collaborating to grow and nurture the volunteer experience. The Coordinator will also work to develop a large pool of eligible volunteers to pull from for various projects.

Key Job Functions

• Set appropriate standards of excellence within the volunteer program.
• Assist with building and cultivating relationships with churches and ministry partners that will help grow SpringHill’s volunteer base.
• Fill regularly scheduled volunteer positions for facilities, properties and food service.
• Coordinate housing prior to volunteer arrival.
• Greet volunteers on their arrival or coordinate their arrival with other SpringHill staff to set-up keys, badges and misc. items.
• Assist with project coordination including the setup and teardown of project materials and supplies.
• Perform background checks, central registry clearances and other information to ensure the safety of our guest and employees.

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications

• Commitment to the mission and ministry philosophy of SpringHill.
• Experience in leading, training, developing and motivating a volunteer team.
• Excellent and well developed written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve, exercise good judgment and make sound decisions while performing job duties.
• Ability to create processes that will improve and enhance the overall volunteer experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and occasionally 35-100 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to bend, twist, push and pull loads.
• Must be able to work in a fast pace environment.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
