Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral or Social science area; concentration preferred.
• One year experience in a related field and volunteer activity preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient computer and technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop recruitment strategies and increase visibility of the Caris Healthcare Volunteer Program within the community.
• Provide training, orientation, and oversight to Caris Healthcare Volunteers.
• Assign volunteers to meet program needs, volunteer interests, and skills.
• Arrange volunteer meetings for support, ongoing training, problem solving, and community engagement.
• Complete social assessments with patients and caregivers to enhance quality of life.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and develop the patient plan of care.
• Coordinate bereavement interventions and community outreach.
