Role Overview

New York Life Group Benefit Solutions (GBS) is expanding into the Voluntary Benefits (VB) marketplace. We seek talented claims expertise to join our team as we establish a new product with a best-in-class service experience. As a VB Claims Manager, you will manage a caseload of VB claims across various products, conducting investigations to determine eligibility, liability, and accuracy, with a focus on service excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Manage a caseload of claims across all VB products and Wellness offerings, handling submissions via multiple channels and proactive claims processing.
• Determine benefits eligibility by reviewing contractual language and medical information to ensure accurate and timely decisions, emphasizing quality and service excellence.
• Perform multi-policy checks to support claim assessments and support GBS initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information.
• Respond promptly to inquiries, adhere to customer service protocols, and document claims thoroughly.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure cohesive service delivery.
• Follow compliance policies and participate in ongoing training and system validation activities.

What You'll Bring

• High School diploma or GED required; BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of Group Benefits experience preferred.
• Experience with GBS claims products is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office, tech-savvy, with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of legal liability, insurance coverage, and medical terminology is helpful.

This position can be fully remote for qualified candidates. The application deadline for Colorado residents is 2 weeks from the posting date.

Pay Transparency

Salary range: $40,000-$70,000. The actual salary depends on experience, skills, and location. Employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses and incentive programs.
