Job summary

i9 Sports in Tampa, Florida, invites you to join as a Youth Sports Coach & Official, mentoring young athletes and making games fun, safe, and memorable.

You will lead games, teach skills, reinforce sportsmanship, and communicate with families, while gaining leadership and mentoring experience in a supportive, outdoor environment.

This role offers a flexible part-time seasonal schedule that works around school and other commitments, with online training and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and passion for working with children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous sports playing, coaching, or officiating experience preferred.
• Ability to lead, problem-solve, and take initiative.
• Dependable and responsible, able to work independently.
• Weekend availability during the season.
• Must pass a National Criminal Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support youth sports games with a fun, encouraging atmosphere.
• Apply i9 Sports rules to promote safe and fair play.
• Teach teamwork, sportsmanship, effort, and respect.
• Provide age-appropriate instruction during games.
• Manage game timing, scoring, and basic field responsibilities.
• Communicate professionally with players, parents, coaches, and staff.

Our Coaches and Officials are more than just game managers—they are mentors, leaders, and role models who help create a fun, safe, and positive environment for every player, coach, and family.

This role plays a direct part in making each game day successful by encouraging sportsmanship, teaching skills, and ensuring every child has a great experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support youth sports games while creating a fun and encouraging atmosphere
• Learn and apply i9 Sports rules and guidelines to promote safe and fair competition
• Teach and reinforce teamwork, sportsmanship, effort, and respect
• Provide age-appropriate instruction and encouragement during games
• Manage game timing, scoring, and basic field/court responsibilities
• Communicate professionally and positively with players, coaches, parents, and staff
• Help create an organized, welcoming, and memorable experience for every family
