Job summary

Zuni Public Schools is seeking an Athletic Coach/Assistant Volleyball Coach for the C team at Zuni High School to support the head coach in organizing and supervising the volleyball program. The role requires coaching experience and a solid understanding of volleyball fundamentals and game strategy.

The position requires mentoring student athletes, coordinating practice schedules, and communicating with staff, parents, and the athletic director to meet program goals.

Qualifications

• Previous successful coaching experience in volleyball.
• Ability to mentor student athletes and promote character development.
• Knowledge of state and league regulations and volleyball rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in implementing athletic policies.
• Attend required meetings and follow proper administrative command lines.
• Collaborate with the head coach to establish philosophy, skills, and techniques.
• Design conferences, clinics, and staff meetings for staff awareness of the program.
• Train and inform staff to support professional growth through coaching clinics.
• Delegate duties, supervise implementation, and evaluate assistant coaches at season end.
• Coordinate scheduling, transportation, and tournament requirements.
• Prepare for practices/games and ensure proper facility usage.
• Provide documentation for athlete eligibility and safety requirements.
• Maintain equipment and inventory, and ensure proper care.
