Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Health Care Information Services (HCIS), seeks an Associate Voice Engineer to provide tier-one technical support for enterprise voice systems. You will troubleshoot telephony issues, including hardware/software problems, call quality, carrier connectivity, and MACD requests for voice platforms.

This on-site role requires hands-on support across multiple hospital locations, including after-hours on-call rotation.Location: Coralville, IA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting voice systems or VoIP.
• Understanding of call flows, SIP, and voice quality metrics.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier 1 support for voice systems and resolve hardware/software issues.
• Troubleshoot call quality, routing, and device registration problems.
• Perform MACD requests and Avaya OneCloud migration support.
• Install/configure Avaya SIP phones and provisioning during deployments.
• Document resolutions and maintain knowledge base materials.
• Travel to hospital/clinic locations for on-site support.
