Job summary

Qualifications

• US citizenship required for DOE work.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
• Experience in cabling system architecture, design, and engineering.
• Proficiency in copper and fiber cabling, media selection and capacity planning.
• Independent engineering judgment to evaluate site conditions and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to read floor plans, network diagrams, and engineering specs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex infrastructure.
• Experience with cable testing/certification equipment and interpreting results.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce clean, documented installations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in ladders/above-ceiling spaces.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and engineer structured voice and cabling systems.
• Develop cabling schemas and infrastructure blueprints for data centers and campuses.
• Provide technical oversight for network infrastructure projects.
• Test, certify, and troubleshoot cabling with industry tools.
• Create and maintain as-built drawings, cable schedules, and labels.
• Coordinate with facilities, construction, and government stakeholders.
