Job Summary

As a Unified Communications Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain communication systems that integrate voice, video, and messaging services. Your role involves ensuring system security, optimizing network infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and working with various departments to enhance user experience. Proficiency in UC solutions, deployment, systems maintenance, VoIP, and security protocols is essential. You should be passionate about solving complex technical problems and delivering superior communication experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement unified communication systems including messaging, voice, video, and collaboration tools.
  • Support VoIP telephony, Video Collaboration tools (MS Teams, WebEx, Zoom), and Video Telepresence infrastructure.
  • Maintain Cisco Unified Communications solutions such as Cisco Call Manager, Unity, and Contact Center.
  • Configure voice gateways, SIP trunks, and manage voice-related network components.
  • Maintain and upgrade servers, perform system maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with network engineers and IT staff.
  • Document configurations, processes, and procedures; stay current with industry trends and technologies.
  • Ensure systems meet performance, security, and availability standards.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, user manuals, and training materials.
  • Work with vendors and partners to evaluate and improve communication solutions.
  • Act as an escalation point for voice and video issues and support system upgrades.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5+ years of experience in unified communication, collaboration, and video telepresence environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Cisco CUCM, telephony infrastructure (MS Teams, Cisco), network protocols, VoIP, SIP, and related technologies.
  • Programming skills in Python or Java are a plus.
  • Experience with video and collaboration tools like WebEx, MS Teams.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCVP, CCIE Voice, or TCE are advantageous.
