Job summary

Aerodyne Industries, LLC is seeking an early to mid-level Voice engineer with 5-10 years of experience on the COSMOS contract at NASA's Johnson Space Center, on-site in Houston. You will design, develop, test, and deploy video, voice and timing systems to support mission operations and training facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree and at least 3 years of general experience.

• Experience with Time Division Multiplexed (TDM) voice systems.
• Experience with audio codecs (G.711, G.729).
• Experience with telephony systems (Loop/Ground Start, SIP, Asterisk).
• Experience with carrier interfaces (TDM, IP).
• Experience with mission audio recorder systems.
• Experience with Analog/Digital audio conversion and distribution equipment.
• Experience with IP video streaming formats and decoding techniques.
• Experience with video interfaces (HDMI, SDI) and resolutions (720p, 1080p, 4K).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ITIL/process adherence.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of Video, Voice, and Timing Systems.
• Assist in maintaining engineering documentation and generating change instructions for MCCS/MTC/SVMF systems.
• Respond to and resolve technical issues as needed.
• Support the development of project schedules and provide status updates to management and engineering teams.

Job Description

This position is for an early to mid-level Voice engineer with 5-10 years of experience on the Contract for Organizing Spaceflight Mission Operations and Systems (COSMOS) which is NASA's next-generation mission operations contract located on-site at Johnson Space Center. COSMOS ensures the continuity of critical human spaceflight support by providing mission control services, advanced training systems, and full-scale spacecraft mockups for astronaut preparation and engineering analysis.

Description of Duties

• Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of Video, Voice, and Timing Systems.
• Assist in the design, development, sustaining, and maintenance of engineering documentation (databases and drawings) and generation of instructions to change (install, modify, update) the various Mission Control Center (MCCS), Mission Training Complex (MTC), and Space Vehicle Mockup Facility (SVMF) voice, video, and timing systems, including MCCS flight control rooms and Ops Suite consoles and Training Systems Instructor Operator System rooms.
• Respond to and resolve technical issues as needed.
• Support the development of project schedules and provide regular status updates to contract management and project engineering teams.
• Coordinate implementation activities with integration teams, maintenance personnel, and other project stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Must have the following education and experience: Bachelor/Master of Science degree and minimum of 3 years of general experience. The candidate must be able to obtain a NASA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Badge for NASA credentials.
