Job summary

Wyoming Department of Corrections seeks a full-time Vocational Welding Instructor to provide hands-on welding instruction and NCCER Safety/OSHA 10 coursework within the vocational education program for incarcerated students in Rawlins. You will develop curricula, monitor progress, and foster a safe learning environment that supports successful reentry.

Preferred candidates hold a welding teaching certificate and NCCER teaching credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education required.
• 0–2 years of progressive work experience in Education or Instruction with vocational trainer knowledge.
• 3–5 years of progressive work experience in Education or Instruction with vocational trainer knowledge, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop course curriculum, lesson plans, and training materials for welding activities.
• Administer assessments and track student progress in welding and safety.
• Coordinate with Central Wyoming College for adjunct instructor status and grade submission.
• Maintain safe, structured, and productive learning environments for incarcerated students.
• Ensure adherence to WDOC policies and participate in ongoing safety and training initiatives.
