Brightli in Raytown, MO is seeking a Vocational Support Specialist to help clients develop soft skills, work readiness, and independent living skills through on-site training. The role emphasizes relationship-building and career planning to support employment retention.

The position offers full-time hours with a starting compensation of $17 per hour. You will collaborate with a diverse team under the Employment Services department, delivering confidential services and adhering to program

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience in rehabilitation, employment services, case management, social services, or related fields is preferred.
• Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required.
• Background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks required.
• Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment, with training requirements annually thereafter.

• Treat all clients, referral sources, stakeholders, and team members with dignity and respect.
• Adhere to confidentiality, CARF, and contractual standards during service provision.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of disabilities and potential assistive technology/accommodations to support individuals in achieving personal and employment goals.
• Compile and review vocational, medical, psychological, and educational information to assist clients with skill development and career planning.
• Coordinate paid, work-based learning experiences with participants, ensuring smooth orientation and administrative processes.
• Monitor and report on progress toward individualized service plan goals, providing job support techniques tailored to client needs.
• Educate employers about the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities and facilitate job accommodations.
• Create employer relationships to develop competitive, integrated employment opportunities for clients.
• Serve as an advocate for clients with employers and stakeholders, promoting the organization at community events.
