Job summary

The Arc Southern Chesapeake is hiring a part-time Vocational Support Associate for the DORS program. This role provides onsite instruction, support, and encouragement to people with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

You will work as part of a team focusing on person-centered planning, goal achievement, and community integration. Responsibilities include facilitating employment, social, and recreational activities, coordinating with employers and family members, and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a criminal background check.
Must have a good driving record with no more than 2 points on the license.
Must have a reliable vehicle for transporting individuals served.
High school diploma or GED required, with willingness to support people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals to meet employment goals by teaching skills and providing supports.
Support development of friendships and relationships in employment, volunteer and recreational settings.
Provide on-site skill instruction and job training, encouraging natural supports.
Maintain contacts with employers, families and others involved in the lives of people served.
