Job summary

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation seeks qualified candidates for a full-time Rehabilitation Counselor II position. The candidate will work from the Vocational Rehabilitation office co-located within the Lewiston CareerCenter, and will work extensively with individuals with disabilities, families, employers, and community providers.

This professional will serve adult clients with various disabilities throughout the Sebago Lakes Region of Maine.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to vocational rehabilitation and 2 years of experience assisting individuals with disabilities, employers and stakeholders with employment needs.

Responsibilities

• Establish a counseling relationship with consumers.
• Contact business groups, advocate for clients, and assist with job placement.
• Build partnerships within the workforce development system.
• Evaluate medical/psychological information to develop rehabilitation plans leading to employment.
• Maintain documentation using the AWARE system.
• Frequent local and occasional statewide travel.
