Job summary

The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) is seeking a Counselor 1 BLV to provide vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve competitive employment outcomes.

Under supervision, you will assess needs, develop individualized employment plans, and guide clients through the rehabilitation process. This full-time role operates in a professional office environment with standard benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Two years related experience.
• Master’s degree preferred with CRC credential.
• Experience with high-volume caseload management.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains referral sources.
• Conducts interviews with VR participants (potentially eligible students, applicants, and clients).
• Reviews and interprets education, vocation, psychological and medical information.
• Travels within caseload assignment area to meet with individuals, providers, partners and other outreach.
• Assists in determining eligibility, identifying order of selection, conducting a comprehensive needs assessment, and developing an individualized plan for employment, authorizing services.
• Counsels and guides participants throughout the rehabilitation process, including establishing employment goals, facilitating job search efforts, maintaining contact with clients, and moving the case to closure.
• Monitors client movement and ensures timely provision of services.
• Documents accurately in the client information system.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Special Education, Social/Human Services, Counseling, or a closely related behavioral or social science field
