Job summary

State of Minnesota, Direct Care and Treatment, MSOP St Peter Region, is seeking a Vocational Supervisor to lead vocation training programs for residents and coordinate staff across multiple sites.

You will oversee program operations, ensure safety and security while delivering pro-social, job-skills training aligned with treatment goals. The role emphasizes leadership, budgeting, and cross-site oversight within a secure facility setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience including supervising or leading a program.
• Experience budgeting including tracking expenses and balancing accounts.
• Experience in supervision or directing staff or programs.
• Experience with providing direction, training, and procedural guidance to staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain balance between therapeutic rehabilitation and security/safety.
• Produce physical products through vocational programming, meeting production needs and contracts.
• Provide input in contract creation, fair market value pricing and vocational education opportunities.
• Budget management and ownership for multiple projects.
• Multi-task across multiple businesses/projects while conducting hands-on training and enforcing safety rules.
• Advise on industry trends to enhance vocational programming.
• Maintain one vocational program at three sites with a single budget.
• Supervise direct reports and lead others.
