Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to help eligible residents with disabilities achieve competitive employment by coordinating services that include counseling, guidance, and direct job placement.

You will conduct assessments, develop Individualized Plans for Employment, and manage a weekly caseload while collaborating with employers, vendors, and the medical community. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology, or CSPD-qualifying field.
• Ability to counsel and advise students/youth toward vocational goals using Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE).
• Effective communication to build relationships with consumers, vendors, employers, medical community, and coworkers.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist eligible South Carolinians with disabilities to achieve and maintain competitive employment by coordinating services including vocational counseling, guidance, and direct job placement.
• Conduct and coordinate communication assessments, vocational assessments, career exploration, and job preparation instruction and design Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE).
• Complete caseload management activities weekly.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
