Job summary

Samaritan Daytop Village seeks an Employment Specialist to guide families in transitional housing through NYC Human Resources Administration processes and NYC ACCESS enrollment. You will partner with Workforce ONE and other centers to help clients obtain employment, and you will complete vocational assessments to monitor progress toward goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience with DHS or similar city-operated organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial vocational assessments for new clients and form recommendations.
• Conduct ongoing vocational assessments and set training/employment goals.
• Provide individual and group counseling toward employment outcomes.
• Record client progress in charts and ILP documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team in case conferences and reviews.
• Deliver weekly vocational seminars to clients.
• Refer clients to employment options and partnerships.
• Perform other tasks as required.
