Job summary

Meramec Valley R-III School District in Pacific, MO, seeks an Athletics/Activities/Activity Sponsor with strong piano skills to support the vocal music program. The role involves playing piano for rehearsals, accompanying choirs, and coordinating with the music director during the school day and after school.

You will perform with school choirs, vocal ensembles, and soloists at concerts, music festivals, and community events, and you may travel for performances.

Qualifications

• DESE Substitute Teacher Certification is required.
• College-level or equivalent training in piano is required.
• Experience as a vocal accompanist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Play the piano at an advanced level in various musical styles.
• Possess advanced sight-reading skills.
• Collaborate with the vocal music director in rehearsals during the school day and after school as needed.
• Perform with school choirs, vocal ensembles, and soloists at school concerts, music festivals, and community events.
• Practice independently to prepare for rehearsals and performances.
• Know and follow safety measures during rehearsals and performances.
• Be willing to ride district transportation and/or use a personal vehicle when traveling to and from performances.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the vocal music director or administrative staff
